My four-season tenure at Jiangsu remains one of the most defining pillars of my career to date. Moving to a different contient to tackle major sporting challenges requires constant self-reflection. In China, I learned that even the most precise methodology isonly valuable if it is shared, embodied, and adapted to the local context.
Appointed as First Assistant Coach, my initial mission was clear : to structure the daily technical and athletic framework while implementing European methodological rigour within an ambitious club. During this first year, I refined my performance evaluation tools on the pitch, operating within a clear tactical philosophy by the Head Coach, Gérard Précheur.
By Focusing on both collective team performance and individual player development, we successfully won the Chinese Women’s FA Cup and the League Cup. This inaugural season served as the ideal laboratory to prove that precise analysis (statistical and video), when applied directly to pitch work, delivers immediate results.
When the club entrusted me with the management of the first team in 2019, the challenge was to transition from « the one who assists » to « the one who decides ». I quickly that a Head Coach must do more than just propose solutions : they must embody tham so that the players believe and follow without a shadow of a doubt.
The 2019 season stands as the most successful in the club’s history, marked by an historic quadruple (League Championship, FA Cup, League Cup, and Super Cup) alongside a runner-up finish in the AFC Women’s Champions League.
These four years transformed me. They validated my ability to win under pressure, build winning cycles over htelong term, and adapt to complex environments.
I left Jiangsu with a major lesson : elite football is a balance between rigorous tactical analysis, a specific training methodology, and the power of human leadership. Knowing where you start, identifying available resources, and turning every constraint into an opportunity : this is the approach I now apply to every dugout.
